Nevertheless

"Behold, I am going to send an angel before you to guard you along the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared." - Exodus 23:20

We are so thankful for our friends, Joe & Heather, who are always willing to encourage us, challenge us, and most importantly - pray for us! I know there are lots more who pray for us on a regular basis, but I'm thankful Stephen has someone like Joe to call and chat with. :)

Nevertheless, not my will, but YOURS be done, Lord. Yesterday at church Pastor Hovey gave a great sermon on submitting to God's will (or your parents authority if that applies) over your own, and even in the times when you don't understand WHY, to still obey.

So many times we don't understand WHY God would let things come our way, or why so much testing has taken place, but if we only knew or could understand the bigger picture. He wants so much for us to stay broken and open before Him - having faith as a child.

I'm starting to think that its almost easier to have a child-like faith, when faith is all you have. I'm grateful that Stephen and I have a solid foundation of God's love, care, and provision for us - because it is easier to trust Him during the difficult times. Without acknowledging Him as our ultimate provider, it would be a lot easier to despair when all seems dark and impossible.

Do you rejoice when God's answer to you is "no"? Do you give praise, as a praise report, when God shows you the answer is no? Honestly, right now (anyway), I'm at the place where - when God seemingly opens a door, but then shuts it - I can rejoice because I know He has something better, and in the meantime, that doesn't mean He's not going to take care of us. :)

So....praise God His answer was "no" about this new job. :) And now, we'll wait for something better. It always comes.
